The programs have been finalized. My children will be involved in two more partnerships with the community leaders. The first partnership with the Humane Society begins next week. My children will be working with the Humane Society to develop and implement fund-raisers, help with dog training, foster dogs (one at a time!) on various weekends, and other activities. The children are really excited about working with the dogs and cats. They wanted to get a dog this year, but we can't afford one at this time. The hard part will be reminding them that the dogs will NOT be ours.
The second partnership program is the Entrepreneur program. My students will be developing their own business, learning book keeping, marketing, and all of the ins and outs of running a business. The business leaders in the area are volunteering their time and energies to teach and support the students. I was amazed at the support and excitement shown by the large corporations in our city. This program will begin on Monday.
