Christmas Eve Dessert Plan

I've been searching for alternatives to our normal holiday desserts and treats. I found this recipe in an old Cooking Light magazine. Usually, we enjoy a Swedish style late supper followed by Christmas cookies when we return from the Christmas Eve service at church. The cookies will be replaced with Macerated Berries. The non-dieting members of the family will have the berries on yogurt. I'll be eating the berries plain.

Macerated Berries

Yield: 4 servings; 1 cup each

Ingredients:
2 cups sliced strawberries
2 cups fresh blueberries
1 cup fresh raspberries
1 tablespoon sugar
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons Grand Marnier (orange-flavored liqueur)

Combine all ingredients, stirring gently. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight, stirring occasionally. Calories: 133, Fiber:6g, Fat: 0.5g
