I'm No Robin Hood

My oldest son, Steve has be asking if we could go to my mom's house and shoot with the bows and arrows. The warmer days passed without us finding the time. Yesterday, Steve asked if we could shoot in the backyard. Our yard is almost completely surrounded by privacy fence, so I decided that it would be okay if we put the target in front of the garage. He set up the target, found the bows and arrows and told me that everything was all set. I put on my winter coat and warm shoes, then followed him to the backyard. After explaining that he can only shoot if I'm outside, he offered me the first few shots.

My first arrow flew 1/2 inch taller than the target. It hit the garage window and broke out a 6" circular hole in the corner. Steve began laughing, mainly because HE didn't break the window. I called my husband at work and explained what had happened. Mike didn't believe me. Three times he accused me of pulling his leg. Finally, I provided him with the measurements, so he could purchase replacement glass.

The rest of the target practice went off without a hitch. I'll probably NEVER live this down.
