Every year we make these delicious Toasted Pecan Toffee Bars as one of our holiday treats. Today, Madelyn and Joe made a batch for dessert.
2 Cups all-purpose flour
1 Cup packed brown sugar
1 Cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 Cup Chopped pecans, toasted
1 Cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, vanilla, and cinnamon; beat until crumbly. Stir in 3/4 cup pecans and 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Press into greased 13x9x2" pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven. Immediately, sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes. Slightly swirl chips as they melt; leave some whole for a marbled effect. Sprinle with remaining pecans. Cool completely in pan. Cut into bars.
