Getting Back in the Swing

My daily exercise regiment went really well during the fall and early winter, but by the middle of February I was only swimming 3 times each week and never working out in the gym. There were too many other things going on in my life and the kids needed more assistance with school, etc.

My oldest daughter returned home from college for the summer last Thursday. Guess who is my new work-out buddy? She's planning on dragging me to the gym every day this week for 45 minute workouts. Next week, she wants to add an early morning bike ride to my schedule. It will be good to have more energy again. Losing more inches off my stomach and hips will be welcome also.

I find it much easier to work out if I know that someone is depending on me to be there. If it's just me going to exercise, I often use the allotted time to tutor someone in math, prepare a more nutritious meal, or clean a bathroom. In the fall, I made the time an important part of my daily schedule and I need to prioritize my exercise needs again. My blood pressure is up and I'm not getting any younger. If I don't get myself in better shape, it is probable that I will not see my youngest two graduate from college.
