My 5 year old loves peanut butter. She has peanut butter on toast, in sandwiches, on celery, and in cookies. She asks for a peanut butter sandwich whenever a meal is served that she doesn't like. Since she doesn't like beef, pasta, rice, pork, beans (except refried), cheese, turkey, and eggs, I am often asked the peanut butter question. Unfortunately, I keep making her try new things, so she doesn't eat as much peanut butter as she would like.
Paige, my 5 year old turns 6 next week. I asked her if she would like peanut butter frosting on her cake. She gave me a look of wonder and asked if I could really make peanut butter frosting. Thinking she would be excited about the idea, I explained that I would make some for her if she wanted. With a sheepish grin, Paige quietly mentioned that she didn't like peanut butter any more.
Before you get the idea that she had grown tired of the taste of peanut butter or that she had developed a more discerning palate, I need to made a confession. We switched to all natural peanut butter last week, instead of our usual Jif last week. Anyone with shares of stock in Smuckers, now is the time to sell!
