More on Susan Boyle

I was saddened to learn that Susan Boyle, the Britain's Got Talent finalist entered a clinic due to exhaustion brought on by pressure from the press. One news article mentioned that she had learning disabilities due to oxygen deprivation at birth. Why would the press hound a shy, retiring woman with special needs? Her photo and story sold papers. But at what price? Where was the compassion due to a fellow human being. Unethical news reporters stress the importance of the "public's right to know." Ms. Boyle is not making public policy. She is an entertainer with an extraordinary talent. Instead of the unkind remarks about her personality and personal attacks on her appearance, the press should have focused on her talent and her courage to overcome personal obstacles. Her talent was unmistakable and deserved respect. What a sad ending. I sincerely hope that she recovers quickly and leads the life she wishes.

The answer to your questions is money! I have become increasingly angry that we can't do something to put a stop to the harrassment of celebrities.

We cn be assured that she has a contract with Simon and we haven't heard the last of her.
