I'm Bored....

Paige and Allie approached me several times today and said, "I'm bored. What's there to do?" These are statements that drive me crazy. I offered a few suggestions and the girls did go outside to play for an hour, but eventually returned inside due to the cold.

Once again I was told that they were bored. In frustration I threatened, "If you tell me you're bored again, you girls are going to scrub the floors." Two voices immediately chimed in, "Can we, please? "What floors can we do? Can we do them ALL?"

The youngest girls are happily scrubbing down the main bathroom floor with extreme joy and vigor. They are still saying that they want to do ALL the floors, but I'm not quite so optimistic. At least the bathroom will be cleaner and I have some peace and quiet.

When the Dancer gets into hyperactive mode (which is fairly often) she will do household chores to work off some of her energy.

Isn't it great that the young find fun in something that's a chore for us? Wish we all could catch their enthusiam!

LOL When my kids were little and they would tell me they were bored I'd ask them what kind of board they were surf board, boogie board, I needed to know or I would say, you know what that means it means your a dull person. They'd just laugh and go off and find something to do they were determined not to be dull people. I guess I'm lucky they found hobbies early on. Just wish my hubby would his being bored drives me crazy cause he wants someone to entertain him.

Mike discovered that he love cooking and has declared that cooking is his new hobby. At first, I was thrilled, but then realized that he didn't learn the first rule for chefs: Keep your work area spotless. It takes me several hours to clean up after Mike cooks dinner. It's lovely not to cook, but I hate the clean up. :)
