Last Concert

Our 15 year old daughter had her last choir concert last night. She isn't returning to the group in the fall, so she is officially finished with her choir commitments. The choir director will not be returning in the fall, so after the concert there was also a good-bye party. Some tears were shed and plans made to keep in touch with special friends.

Our daughter was 8 when she joined the group. After the girls filed in, I thought back to when she was the shortest child in the front row. Now she stands in the back and is considered one of the Big Girls. The years have seen many changes in this child, not just physically, but musically and emotionally as well.

While I am looking forward to the much lighter schedule next year, it was certainly a bitter-sweet evening.
