Our oldest dd, 20, has been looking for work for the last three months. Our state economy is so bad that temporary or part time jobs are very hard to come by. I spoke with a woman I know who manages a local dollar store that is hiring. The manager will lose quarterly bonus money if she hires a summer worker. The manager wanted to hire my daughter, who has held several jobs and has excellent references, but doesn't want to earn less herself.
Last night, my daughter received a phone call for an interview on Friday. The job is for a cashier during second or third shift for a large store.
