Latest Sewing Projects

Monday and Tuesday were big sewing days at my home. I managed to complete several projects that had been cut out, but not sewn together. My Christmas sewing projects are accumulating in my husbands closet, waiting to be wrapped. The tubs of material my wonderful brother gave me are decreasing quickly.

These three skirts are for my youngest two daughters. The colors turned out funky in the photo. The skirt on the left is made from grey corduroy, the middle skirt is grey and red corduroy, and the skirt on the right is burgandy/wine colored knit.
This throw is going to be in our family room for the chilly fall evenings. I had completed another three blocks, but lost one! The quilt is a good lap quilt size. I normally make my lap quilts long, so that multiple people (mom and two small girls) can sit under one throw. This lap quilt will only keep one mom and one small child warm.

This grey corduroy skirt is for my 10 year old daughter. She received it at part of her birthday gifts yesterday. I made a coordinating blue faux suede shirt to match. The outfit looked great on her and will certainly be comfortable and warm this winter.
This deep purple floral flannel nightgown is for my 5 year old daughter. She loves purples and prefers nightgowns to pajamas.

This is the second church ensemble my 10 year old received for her birthday. The skirt is brown faux suede, the jacket is a brown, pink, creme tweed. I didn't line the jacket, because I hate to line jackets and she won't be in this size for more than a year. If I take the time and effort to line clothing, the clothes need to last several years. I did use a soft lace seam-binding tape to finish all edges and seams. My daughter looks very gown up in this outfit.
