Zoorotica

Our local zoo is having a special Valentine's Day event, called Zoorotica. I learned about it on the Neal Bortz radio program yesterday. Couples over the age of 21 can spend 3 hours learning about the sex habits of zoo animals. After a question and answer period with zoo staff and a movie presentation, the couples will observe zoo animals having sex. The event ends with hors d’oeuvres.

This is an event that I feel happy to miss. The kids and I have watch a number of wild-life DVD's where animals are mating. I've explained to the younger kids that they shouldn't pull toads apart who are "stuck to each other." But spending the afternoon watching animals mate is not my idea of a romantic Valentine's Day. To each his own.
