Time for some Changes

Allie and Paige have been sharing a twin bed since the fall. They like to sleep together and we didn't have the money to purchase another mattress, so they have been sharing for a long time. Mike got a great deal on a mattress for Allie and for two of the other kids who had worn out their previous mattresses. The mattresses arrived late yesterday at the store waiting for us to pick them up.

Mike picked up the mattresses this morning. We took apart one captain's bed and moved the drawers and frame downstairs to Madelyn's new bedroom. One of the new mattresses went into Madelyn's room and another one went downstairs to replace Stephen's old mattress.

Katie and I took apart the bunk beds that were in the former Madelyn/Katie's room and turned the bunk beds into one "normal" bed and one trundle bed for Paige/Allie's room. All the carpeting was thoroughly vacuumed and the bedroom walls were washed in both upstairs bedrooms. Thanks for your help Joe! I couldn't have done it alone.

Katie and Stephen climbed up to the attic and located Katie's daybed. Katie has been patiently waiting for the day when she would once again have her own room and could use her daybed. Somewhere along the way, we lost some of the parts to the day bed. Mike placed an order through work for replacements, which will be in on Thursday.

I sorted through all of Paige and Allie's clothing and bagged up a lot of items for charity. We have a second dresser that could go into their bedroom, but there isn't a lot of space. I'm hoping to continue to cram everything into one dresser a little while longer.

Having caught the dresser-organization bug. I sorted out Mike's dresser and my dresser. The house doesn't look any more organized than normal. But, I know that there is less mess hidden inside drawers and under bed than there was this morning. We should all sleep well tonight.
