My oldest daughter took her brothers to the Renaissance Fair yesterday. Stephen challenged the champion fencer (who was 6'5") and was defeated. Steve is about 4'10" and the challenge involved breaking balloons that were strung above their heads. Stephen is a really good fencer, who wins most of his fencing matches, so it was a little unnerving to him.
They took the opportunity to look at weapons and boffers. Steve purchased a Kunia dagger and a katana. Joe purchased a wooden sword. While Amy discovered a silver leaf key chain, which contains a cutting blade.
We had considered getting a craft booth at the show, but thought that the booth fee was really expensive. The boys are considering selling boffers at the fair next year.

There is a really good Ren Faire south of us, with rides (really!) and lots of fun attractions. We may go again this year. My husband would love to pick up some new weapons for his stash!
