My brother-in-law has a construction company. He does quality work and we always hire him to do home improvements/repairs that are beyond our abilities. We asked him if he was willing to do work on the home that we recently purchased. He said that he'd like the jobs, so yesterday he and Mike went to get estimates.
There are a number of jobs that we are going to be doing before our February move-in date.
1. Repair hole in family room roof.
2. Remove decorative wood supports from living room ceiling and replace drywall.
3. Install flooring throughout the house.
4. Remodel upstairs bathroom.
5. Build large storage shed.
These are the jobs for the following year:
1. Replace the remaining windows with new replacements windows.
2. Pour concrete driveway and garage floor.
3. Build garage.
The first job that Matt will be doing is the roof repair. Mike and I had thought it would run us around $4000. Matt's estimate was $950. Yipee! Matt has a number of jobs scheduled and is going to fit us in as soon as possible. The job he has scheduled for next week may be delayed. If that's the case, Matt will begin the roof repair next week.
