Ice Cream

Remember when you were a kid and you would find a beloved toy that had been misplaced and forgotten? We are finding lots of forgotten, but much loved stuff lately. Today's big find was an old fashioned ice cream maker. I knew that it was in the basement behind the canning supplies, but didn't share that information with the kids. Joe was helping to haul boxes upstairs and "discovered" this wonderful contraption. He spent some time figuring out how to put the machine together, then asked the all important question, "Can we make some ice cream?" Because I am a soft touch, we will be making ice cream tomorrow after a trip to the store for cream. January is NOT my first preference for a month to make ice cream, but it will taste wonderful and the kids will enjoy the experience....I wonder if I can use icicles instead of ice?
