The homeschool group went on a field trip Wednesday to the children's museum. Madelyn and the older students participated in a Mars Space Mission. The students went into the "Shuttle" and traveled to Mars. Once there, they located a missing group of scientists. Madelyn enjoyed the mission.
Alison and Paige were in a group that "cooked" a comet. The students learned about the elements in a comet and then helped the instructor mix the ingredients to create a comet.
After everyone had the opportunity to touch the comet, it was launched into the Kalamazoo River.

Madelyn's Mars Mission took the entire morning. Paige and Alison had time to enjoy a planetarium show. They learned about the various stars and about the planets in the solar system.
After the planetarium show, the younger girls spent some time doing the various weather experiments with some of their friends.
The Kalamazoo Valley Museum is filled with child-friendly activities and a helpful staff. Several staff members were walking through the exhibits and interacting with the children.
