Never Ending Ironing Pile
I've been ignoring the growing pile of ironing in my laundry room. It began as just a few shirts that I didn't ocmplete on ironing day, a couple of weeks ago. I told myself that I would do them the following day, but of course that didn't happen. The pile began to grow at a steady pace. Last week, I did the semi-annual seasonal clothing switch and the ironing pile tripled. The two youngest girls had about 20 winter dresses that needed ironing. My middle daughter had a dozen dresses and 4 shirts to add to the pile. The boys had 6 long sleeved shirts needing ironing. During this time period, my better half has continued to wear dress shirts and slacks to work everyday. Today, I gathered all the various piles together and filled 3 hamper-sized baskets. After ironing for 8 1/2 hours (and watching most of the LoTR trilogy) I have completed all the ironing. I feel so empowered! My children are amazed; my husband is grateful. Tomorrow I'll tackle defrosting the big freezer! Maybe.
