We were swimming in the pool at the Y this morning and I reminded my 5 year old that no running is allowed on the pool deck. Because I didn't want to get into a long explanation, I said, "Because the life guard wants everyone to walk." She looked at me with her all-knowing expression and said, "He's not a lifeguard, he's a husband-guard." I didn't make the connection, but my 15 year old explained. The female life guards are "wife-guards" the male life guards are "husband-guards".
