We ended up with 10+ inches of snow here. Unfortunately, most of our snow shovels are at the other house. Oops! Steve and Joe went out early this morning and cleared our cars. They also shoveled around the actual cars and a path to the back door. What they didn't do was behind the cars until the end of the driveway. I needed to run to the grocery store to get some food so I quickly backed out of the drive. The car swerved and slid, but didn't get stuck.
While I was gone, the snow-plows came by doing a main path down the center of the street. More snow was pushed into the end of our drive creating a mound. When I returned home with a full trunk, no one had completed any more shoveling. With the gas pedal pushed to the floorboards, I struggled to get into the driveway. The car finally cleared the driveway entry sideways. After spinning the car around (who knew that I could be a professional stunt driver) and coming to a halt, the kids helped me unload the groceries. They worked in shifts the rest of the afternoon to clear the drive and 264' of sidewalk that we are responsible for keeping free of snow.
The kids are tuckered out and I'm chilly. This looks like a great night to stay inside and sip hot coffee or cocoa. Only 5 more weeks until spring!
